Business Emirates # 12 (January - Februaty 2007) - page 89

I
nternational business forum “Leaders in
Dubai – 2006” was the latest major event
that UkrainianTrade Center took part in and
took on the coordinator’s role for Ukrainian
delegation, which consisted of politicians
and businessmen who managed to
representUkraineonahigh levelatthisprestigious
International Forum.
Show stand of Ukrainian Trade Center also
was praised as one of the best stands. UTC
was the only organization represented there
out of all CIS countries. Therefore, UTC used
fully the opportunities of the Business Forum
“Leaders inDubai 2006” to form positive image
of Ukraine inGulf countries.
Stunning success of international business
summits inDubai over thepast three years place
the forum inUAE in linewith suchgatherings
of theworldelite as SwissDavos forums. It
is nice to know that Ukrainehas been in the
focus of the forumorganizers’ interest since the
verybeginning. AnatoliyZlenko, well-known
diplomat and ForeignAffairsMinister of Ukraine
in1990-1994 and2000-2003, was invited to the
previous business forum“Leaders inDubai –2005”.
At the latest summit inDubai, A. Zlenko also
representedour country, togetherwithValeriy
Pustovoytenko, whowasUkraine’s PrimeMinister
in1997-1999. Certainly, Sergey Pachkovskiy,
theDirector General of UkrainianTradeCenter
for Gulf countries tookpart in the International
Business Forum “Leaders inDubai –2006”.
Ukrainiandelegation also includedmembers
of Ukrainianbusinesswhogainedpractical
benefits from themeetings organizedon this
high representation level. It isworthmentioning
speciallyMikhail Ponomarenko, General Director
of “OTISCorporation”and Sergey Leskovskiy,
President of “Agrokhimholding”Corporation.
Lively atmosphere accompanying the
debates didnot justmake the impact towards
theoretical development but alsobrought quite
practical results. Oneof highly respectable
participants of the latest forummentioned that
even a single ideageneratedhere could cover
all the forum costs. This is quite logical though,
because the forumoperationwas organized in
such amanner that participantswere able to
agreeonpersonalmeetings at lunchor over
a cupof coffeewith the speakerswhowere
