KAZAKHSTAN UAE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION IN ASTANA ONNOVEMBER 28 THE UAE EMBASSY TO THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN ORGANIZEDA SOLEMNRECEPTIONON THE OCCASIONOF THE 47THUAE Ǥ ǡ HEADS OF FOREIGNDIPLOMATICMISSIONS ANDREPRESENTATIVES OF ǡ Ǥ I n his welcome remarks, H.E. the Ambassador of the UAE to Kazakhstan told the guests about main achievements of the country in socio-economic and political spheres. On December 2, 1971, 6 emirates declared their independence and announced the creation of a new joint country. 47 years have passed since the establishment of the UAE and through this period of time the country has made a quantum leap in the economic, social, cultural and political spheres, as well as the introduction of new technologies, the attraction of new investment, the rise of tourism and the private sector development. There is a political dialogue and an active exchange between delegations of two countries for the moment. Our countries have signed an agreement on cooperation in such fields as culture, science, education and tourism. Moreover, there are about 200 joint ventures in the field of oil refining and oil and gas infrastructure development, agriculture, chemical industry and construction. Particularly worthmentioning is construction of one of the biggest bilateral project –Abu Dhabi Plaza, with a total investment amount of 1.6 billionUSD. In addition to that, the Ambassador mentioned close ties of Kazakhstan and UAE national investment companyMubadala. The UAE, which shares common cultural and spiritual values with Kazakhstan, has never been as interested in intensifying cooperation through expanding of political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts, as it is now. During the reception, awards and certificates of appreciation were given to the companies, which are highly professional and rendering support to the bilateral cooperation. Thus, the magazine Business Emirates was awarded high honors of the UAE Embassy. Also valuable prizes were raffled off at the event. Throughout the event, the folklore ensemble from the UAE performed, as well as masters of henna painting presented their art. The reception was followed by a dinner. The UAE pursues a vigorous foreign policy in both – regional and international levels. The UAE’s priorities are focused on sustainable development of the country as well as strengthening friendship and mutual understanding with the countries all over the world. The Ambassador had also touched upon the cordial bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The UAE attaches particular importance to the enhancement of relationship with Kazakhstan in different spheres and intensification of dialogue on issues of mutual concern as well as for the development of economic cooperation and investment.
