Ship-building company “Morye”has
commissionedmore than630hydrofoil ships
(Raketa, Cometa, Voskhod, Olympia andGrif). This
is approximately 50%of theoverall number of
this typeof plants in thewholeworld.
Light industry is representedby 15
enterprises producing cotton fabrics, hosiery,
leather goods, shoes and accessories.
At this stageof development of the
Autonomous Republicof Crimea, themain
goal of the industrial and investment policy is
the formationof industrial potential capable
of competingon thedomestic and foreign
market, creationof favorable conditions for
investment into the real sector of economy.
It isworthnoticing that 62Crimean industrial
enterprises takepart in international investment
cooperation.
Food industryof the region almost fully
provides for theneeds of Crimeanpopulation
and tourists andpatients plus it has serious
export potential. Crimeandessertwines and
champagne arewell-knownof theworldmarket.
Essential oils fromCrimea alsoenjoywell-
deservedpopularity.
Live farming industry is toprovideCrimean
population and touristswithdiet foods and
ecologically clean animal products.
Agricultural complex is oneof themost
important spheres of Crimeaneconomy. The
mainpurposeof agriculture is toprovide the
population and visitorswithquality foods, create
stable rawmaterials base for food industry
companies and increase foodexport potential.
An important factor for highefficiencyof the
agro-industrial complex is the correspondence
of its branches to the social andeconomical
importanceof the region and the focus on
maximumuseof uniquenatural andbiological/
climaticpotential of Crimea. In thenear future,
thepeninsula is tobecomeoneof themost
important resort areas in Eastern Europe and
NorthernAsia.
Taking this intoaccount, theAutonomous
RepublicofCrimeapays seriousattention to
thedevelopmentof traditional industries that
correspond themost (with regard toeconomic,
ecological, biological andother criteria)with
thediversityof soil andclimateconditionsand
satisfying theneedsofpopulation in foodsand
otherproducts. Such traditional spheres include
wine-growing, tobacco farming, essential oil plants
cultivation, poultry farmingandviticulture. Local
climate isgood for fruit, berriesandwine farming
almost everywhereon the territoryofCrimea.
It is alsoworth saying that soil and climate
of Crimea allow for successful tobacco farming.
Tobacco is aquite specific southernplant and
here inCrimea, itsmost valuable aromatic and
semi-aromatic sorts (Dubeque andAmerican)
growhere. Theplantations areexpanded and
planting stock is concentrated in specialized
facilitieswithproper equipment and technology.
Crimea is also auniqueplace for cultivation
of essential oil plants. Scientificpotential of the
branchhas beenpreserved since the timeof the
USSR. In future, products of essential oil plants
processing could satisfy theneeds of fragrance
industry andmakeCrimeanessential oils
competitive in theworld.
Economicpotential of Crimea is immense,
both in the senseof the industryprospects and
resorts development. SouthCoast of Crimea is
developing at thehighest pacenow. But in any
event, other regions of thepeninsulawill follow
soon. That iswhy it ismost profitable to invest in
Crimeanow.
Ukrainianproverb advises tohurrywithout

makingdecisions. Act nowor lose futureprofit.
